    Tax Masters Review: Tax Settlements

By no means are these Tax Masters reviews to be mistaken for a guarantee of results. Each case is different and each taxpayer’s experience with the IRS will vary, even if all things are equal.

    Tax Masters Review

Client contacted us on July 23, 2007. Client had an unfiled tax return for 2006 and unpaid tax debt from previous tax years totaling $359,095.  An IRS Revenue Officer was assigned to the case and began threatening to levy accounts, Social Security benefits, and so on. After much back and forth and behind the scenes work by Tax Masters with the IRS Revenue Officer, Client was growing concerned that nothing seemed to be happening. Client came to Tax Masters offices in October 2007 to express concern, stating that Client was having financial difficulty and wanted to cancel services. The Tax Masters team worked with him to accommodate a new payment schedule and the Tax Masters financial analyst explained that we were submitting an offer in compromise on the client’s behalf and that it would take four to six months to hear back from the IRS on the offer.  Offer was rejected in April 2008. Tax Masters  submitted appeal on behalf of Client in June 2008.  After almost a year of back and forth with the appeals office and after submitting yet another offer, the IRS accepted an offer in compromise in May 2009 of $33,635.

    Client Result

Tax Masters saved Client $325,460 by tenaciously pursuing every possible resolution for Client, finally winding up with an accepted offer in compromise. Even though Client attempted to cancel services, Client submitted a personal thank you note to Tax Masters Patrick Cox after his offer was accepted, naming the team members that worked on the case and expressing his and his family’s appreciation.

Client contacted us on October 5, 2008. Client signed on for help with a tax debt of $43,482, but had waited too long to act and Client accounts were frozen shortly after engaging Tax Masters. Wage garnishment followed shortly thereafter. Tax Masters requested a Collections Due Process Hearing on client’s behalf and was able to get lien lifted and garnishment suspended. Tax Masters collected all relevant data from Client and submitted offer in compromise. IRS countered with an offer of settling the debt for $3,638 and Client accepted, opting to use payment plan to pay it out over 12 momths.

    Client Result

Tax Masters saved Client $39,844 by settling a substantial IRS tax debt through the use of an offer in compromise.
